Tally Ho
Backyard Haven

Nestled against a ravine, this property presented both a challenge and an opportunity—to create expansive outdoor living areas despite the limited yard depth. The homeowners, avid entertainers, envisioned a space that felt open and inviting, seamlessly integrating with the natural landscape while maximizing every inch of their backyard.
Our solution? A tiered design that transformed the space into a dynamic, multi-level retreat. Stone retaining walls extended the depth of the travertine patio, creating a generous, level entertaining space at ground level. Above, we designed a cantilevered deck, supported by helical piers, that appears to float effortlessly over the ravine—offering breathtaking, unobstructed views of the forest below.
One of the most striking features of this project is the cascade effect—both in structure and design. As the different levels step down, they create a natural flow that mirrors the movement of the landscape. This theme continues in the custom waterfall feature, a stunning focal point that enhances the ambiance with its soft, rhythmic movement.
By working with the land instead of against it, we crafted an outdoor haven where entertaining, relaxation, and nature coexist in perfect balance.
