Classic Retreat

Set against the backdrop of a newly built home, this project was about blending old with new—working around the existing pool while creating inviting, functional spaces for a large family of seven. The challenge? Ensuring every landscape element complemented the home's traditional architecture, bringing a sense of timeless elegance to the design.

To achieve this, we combined natural flagstone with mixed-size manufactured pavers that perfectly mimic the look of natural stone. This attention to detail is best showcased in the front courtyard entry, where Eramosa ledgestone walls, soft lighting, and carefully selected materials create a warm, welcoming ambiance. The buff-colored paver driveway banding seamlessly ties into the natural limestone courtyard, ensuring a cohesive and classic aesthetic that extends throughout the property.

In the backyard, we carried this theme forward with natural stone pool coping and matching buff pavers, enhancing the beauty of the existing pool while crafting a space designed for both relaxation and entertainment.

Two standout features define this retreat. First, the front courtyard, an intimate, cozy space that has become a beloved gathering spot—so much so that the homeowners find themselves spending as much time there as they do on the rear patios. Second, the covered raised sitting area, complete with a firepit and outdoor movie projector, turns evenings into unforgettable moments under the stars.

This project is the perfect balance of classic charm and modern comfort, proving that thoughtful design can bring new life to even the most established spaces.
